Cultural

Deaf Culture & American Sign Language, cultural festivals, Interactions with Deaf  Communities from around the world. It also features Guest Speakers & Cultural           Celebrations. 

Wellness

Classes include: meditation, chair yoga and walking; massages, hair and skin care as well as manicure and pedicure services.  We also host a multitude of health education seminars. 

Recreation

We have a very large selection of board and card games. We hold talent competitions with great  prizes, holiday parties for members, their families and friends. We also celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and  other occasions with our members at our center. Excursions to museums, theaters, NY Aquarium, Botanic Garden, Zoo, the famous Coney Island beach and local attractions, to the movies and bowling. 

Meals

We offer two hot meals: breakfast and lunch and snacks. Our chef follows individual member’s dietary needs: diabetics, gluten free, vegetarian, lactose-free. Kosher meal is available. Several times a year we make trips to different buffets.

Coordination of Services

Assistance with transportation services arrangements, referrals for medical mobile services, social work services, mani-pedi services, medication delivery, homecare services and independent living services.

We welcome our Deaf, Deaf-Blind visitors, so feel free to visit us between 10 am and 12 pm during normal business days. American Sign Language fluent staff will give you a grand tour and assist you with any questions you may have about DWRC.
